Our values

SUSTAINING
   RESPONSIBLY

As one of the leading producer of Certified Sustainable Palm Oil (CSPO), we are the founding member of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO).

We strive to set the bar for the industry by ensuring sustainability throughout all our palm oil production chains. With a history that spans decades, we’ve earned a solid reputation for high standards and operational excellence. We uphold the development and promotion of sustainable practices in the palm oil sector, and our approach is in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs).

We are also passionate towards contributing endlessly back to society that we operate in, ensuring that we grow together harmoniously.

Zero Waste

We practice an absolute Zero-waste practice throughout our production chain. We sustainably extract the nutrients of our products which is a by-product of palm oil processing.

All by-products are reused and repurposed into compost and fertilizers for our plantations.

The world's largest
sustainable palm oil
production

Sime Darby Oils Nutrition (SDON), as a subsidiary of Sime Darby Plantation Berhad, adheres to the Group’s three charters that outline our commitments to responsible agriculture practices, human rights, as well as innovation and productivity, and resonates with our promise of Delivering Sustainable Futures.

No Peat
No Exploitation
No Deforestation

The rapid rate of deforestation is an urgent challenge for the world. As the leading producer of sustainable palm oil, we share the same concern. This led to us ensuring that throughout our entire operation, we are committed to No Deforestation, No Peat, No Exploitation practices.

As we are committed to zero clearing of land for agricultural use and we have been increasingly focused on improving the traceability of oils in our supply that are sourced beyond our own production.

Our planting techniques minimize the emission of carbon and greenhouse gases.

GIVING BACK
TO SOCIETY

1.4 MIL TREES PLANTED

Since 2010, we have planted over 1.4 million trees through Sime Darby Plantation’s Plant-A-Tree project. The project is initiated across our operations globally in the efforts to restore habitats of endangered species and reducing biodiversity loss.

ANIMAL CONSERVATION

For the last decade, Sime Darby foundation and Sabah government has set up an animal conservation sanctuary in Tabin Forest Reserve for Sumatran rhinos, Malaysian Sunbear and elephants in partnerships with Borneo Rhino Alliance (BORA).

COMMUNITY & HEALTH

Sime Darby Foundation supports community-based programmes as well as sustainable initiatives in hopes to better the wellbeing of disadvantaged people and reduce socio-economic disparities.

We aim to support livelihoods of local communities through job opportunities, economic growth as well as alternative livelihood trainings. Infrastructure and facilities such as roads, community halls, health centers as well as facilities help improve access to basic needs for local communities.

Numerous healthcare, schools as well as education programs to the underprivileged communities has been carried out throughout the years. Most recent activity includes COVID-19 pandemic support efforts where we donated basic necessities to communities in need.
